AI tools for content creation: a top 10 AI tools list built from published plan prices rather than opinion

Most roundups of AI tools rank things that do different jobs, which is why they are impossible to act on: a rewriter and an avatar video generator are not competitors and there is no honest ordering between them. This one is grouped by task instead, and the only claim made about any entry is the price its vendor publishes and the date we read it. What it is for is narrowing four decisions to one candidate each, quickly.

Every figure on this page is a plan price read from the named vendor's own pricing page on 11 September 2026 and licensed in this site's claims ledger before it was published. Vendor pricing pages localise, so where a page rendered a currency other than dollars for us, no dollar figure is quoted at all.

Ten tools, by the job they do

  1. Rewriting and expanding a draft. Wordtune publishes a free plan at $0.00 with paid tiers at $6.99 per month and $9.99 per month, both billed annually. Rytr publishes a free forever plan at $0/m requiring no credit card, then $7.50/m and $24.16/m. Sudowrite, aimed at longer-form and fiction work, publishes $10 per month, $22 per month and $44 per month. This is the cheapest category in the kit and the one where free tiers most often suffice.
  2. Drafting copy at volume. Jasper publishes Pro at $59/month billed yearly or $69/month billed monthly, with Business at custom pricing. Copy.ai publishes $29/mo billed monthly. Writesonic starts at $79 a month. These are priced for marketing teams and buy brand controls and collaboration a solo creator will not open, which is why the rewriting tools above are usually the better purchase for one person.
  3. Turning a script into video. HeyGen publishes a free plan at $0/mo allowing up to 3 videos a month with no credit card, then Creator at $29 / mo and Pro at $49 / mo. Pictory publishes Starter at $25 a month billed annually against $29 monthly, then $35 and $119. InVideo publishes $20 per seat per month billed annually, then $50 and $100. Synthesia's own FAQ states $29 per month or $264 a year for Starter and $89 per month or $804 a year for Creator.
  4. Voice, music and editing. ElevenLabs publishes a free tier at $0 per month, Starter at $6 per month and Creator at $22 per month with a first month at $11. Mubert separates a Non-Commercial plan at $11.69 / month from Commercial Usage at $32.49 / month. Descript, which edits video by editing the transcript, publishes a free plan at $0 and Hobbyist at $16 per person per month billed annually against $24 monthly, then Creator at $24 and Business at $50.
  5. What this list deliberately leaves out. There is no general assistant here, no AI detector and no image generator. A general chatbot is not a content tool bought for a task, detection answers a question about authorship rather than production, and image generation is a category this site has not measured and will not price on guesswork. Leaving them out keeps every entry on this page comparable with the others in its own group.

Common questions

What are the best AI tools for content creation?
That depends on the task, which is why this page groups rather than ranks. For rewriting, the free and near-free tiers of Wordtune and Rytr are competitive. For video, HeyGen, Pictory, InVideo and Synthesia do noticeably different jobs at broadly similar entry prices.
How current are these prices?
Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 11 September 2026 and each entry links to that page. Vendor pricing changes without notice, so the link, not the number, is the authority once this page is a few months old.
Why are there no rankings or scores?
Because a score across tools that do different jobs is invented. The comparable facts are what a vendor publishes and what a plan allows, so those are what this page carries. There are no earnings claims here and no statement about what any tool will do for your business.
Do these replace the platform I publish on?
No. These make the work; a newsletter, course or membership platform sells it. Those platforms are priced separately on this site, on their own published figures, and the two costs sit on top of one another.
